Our Story
For 20 years, The Finerie has been a destination for distinctive fashion, personal style, and the pleasure of discovering something unexpected.
Founded in Seattle in 2006 by Tanya Friberg, The Finerie began as a fashion boutique at Harbor Steps with a carefully considered collection of men’s and women’s clothing. Today, our home at 1006 Western Avenue brings fashion, accessories, artisan work, art, and interiors together under one roof.
Through every chapter, one thing has remained constant: style is personal.
We believe getting dressed should be expressive, individual, and fun. Our collections bring together established and emerging designers from Seattle, across North America, Europe, and beyond—chosen for distinctive design, thoughtful details, beautiful materials, and pieces you’re unlikely to find everywhere else.

Tanya Friberg Principal/Owner - heads up the product curation of THE FINERIE fashion & FINERIE STYLE STUDIO (Upholstery, furniture, decor, area rugs and local one of a kind items.
FINERIE STYLE STUDIO is the interiors arm of FINERIE - we work with over 60 Brands. USA, European & other global collections made all over the world, including locally made one of a kind items.
Specializing in unique designs for both residential and commercial spaces. Our brands cover a diverse style mix to personalize for our clients style vibe and needs. FINERIE carries a broad style range and price range including complete custom bespoke pieces.
20 of the Designers/Brands we carry customize pieces and many of those do complete custom pieces that are one-of-a-kind.
We love unique items that are heirloom quality and you can enjoy in your home for many years! A diverse style mix - that we custom select - and curate based on the clients space and preferred design aesthetic.
We often add pieces to the showroom - so stop by when you are downtown and let us inspire you!
A Seattle Story
The Finerie opened its doors in 2006 at Harbor Steps in downtown Seattle, beginning with designer fashion for women and men.
In 2014, Finerie CoLAB expanded that point of view with a Belltown pop-up showcasing local artists, fashion and jewelry designers, and furniture makers.
In 2015, Tanya opened The Finerie’s furniture and design showroom at 1006 Western Avenue. Five years later, the fashion boutique and interiors showroom came together in the Western Avenue space, creating the Finerie you experience today.
Now, in 2026, we celebrate 20 years—two decades of evolving collections, creative collaborations, memorable outfits, conversations, friendships, and a Seattle community that continues to shape what comes next.

Our collections span polished everyday dressing, work and travel, special occasions, statement pieces, and the pieces in between. We carry both women’s and men’s fashion, along with shoes, accessories, jewelry, and locally made artisan work.

Finerie Style Studio, our interiors arm, works with a broad collection of furniture, lighting, décor, textiles, custom upholstery, and artisan-made pieces for residential and commercial spaces.
Just as we approach fashion, our approach to interiors begins with individuality. We mix established makers with independent artisans, international collections with locally made work, and ready-to-place pieces with custom and bespoke options.
The result is a showroom where fashion, art, design, and personal expression can live together.
